Description:

Toxic Corridors is a powerful new poem on racial inequities within the health and care system.

The poem was written by Kwabena Kimathi, author and gospel literary evangelist, and is being shared by the NIHR Race Equality Public Action Group (REPAG).

Toxic Corridors discusses the relationship between physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. The video features Kwabena Kimathi, André Tulloch and Danté Grant who highlight black, male voices which are often ignored when it comes to health and health research.

REPAG’s Race Equality Framework - self-assessment tool for public involvement in research - was developed to tackle the types of systemic issues that Toxic Corridors speaks about and address racial inequities. It's a key part of our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and an example of our new EDI strategy in action.

This video was produced by Boyd Visuals.
