Description:
This animation about leaving care and homelessness was co-developed with care-experienced young people in partnership with VOYPIC (Voice of Young People in Care) to communicate research findings in an accessible and engaging format.
As part of a co-produced programme of research, young people shaped the narrative, identified key messages, and gave voice to the changes they want to see in services and support systems. The animation translates complex research evidence into a visual story that centres lived experience and amplifies young people’s voices.
By combining administrative data insights with the perspectives of those with direct experience of care, the animation aims to make research more understandable to wider audiences—including policymakers, practitioners, and the public—while ensuring that the priorities and recommendations reflect what matters most to care-experienced young people.
This approach demonstrates how creative, co-produced knowledge translation can strengthen the impact of research and support advocacy for meaningful change. Production by Nifty Fox Creative.
