Event description

CRN East Midlands and the Centre for BME Health have been working together to improve inclusivity within research, including COVID-19 research. They have created a training module on NIHR Learn with an accompanying Toolkit.

Black and Asian Minority Ethnic groups make up about 13% of the population of the United Kingdom and are forecast to increase significantly in the coming decades. Also, they are more likely to suffer from poorer health outcomes and health and social care inequalities in general. However, they are much less likely to be represented in health and social care research studies.

The resource aims to capture best practice and provide researchers with a framework on how to improve the participation of ethnic minority groups in research.
